A Wicked Halloween Party

Happy October everyone!  Last week I set up a Cupcake & Cocktails “Wicked” Halloween Party to showcase our new printable Halloween set.  At the moment bold stripes are one of my favorite party trends.  From the striped straws and cupcake liners to the rugby striped party printables – I love the bold look of the black and white with hint of color.

For the main table setting I used a green plastic table cloth with a black lace overlay and a beautiful candelabra centerpiece.  The name plates for each guest were created using our editable food labels.

The flower arrangement is a rectangle glass vase that I covered using the pattern paper that is included in the set and topped if off with some beautiful lace.

I set the table using these great black and white striped paper plates I found at a local party store
and gave each of the ladies there very own witchy cupcake in a personalized take home box.

These witch feet are just adorable – simply stack up mint Oreo’s and top with mini cupcakes and witch feet. A word of caution though – place them in a stable spot where they won’t get bumped.

Gourmet Candy Covered Caramel Apples

Last week I worked on a photo shoot with the wonderful Monica from Andary Studio’s to show off the brand new Halloween Collection.  I made these delicious Gourmet Candy Apples for the shoot which turned out adorable.  Here is the tutorial on how to make your own.

Halloween Candy Apples

Supplies:
Store bought Candy Apples (or you can make your own, I was lazy this day)
Caramel Dipping Sauce
Candy Bars {your choice you need about 1 large or 3 fun size bars per apple}
Small bowl of sugar
Wax Paper
Chocolate chips or Melting chocolate

How to make Gourmet candy Apple

1. Place a large piece of wax paper over cookie sheet and set aside.

2. Crunch up candy bars in food processor or crush them in a plastic bag with a rolling pin. Place in bowl and set aside.

3. Dip store bought candy apple into caramel dipping sauce {you can skip this step if you are dipping your own apples}

{The back one is how it looks when you don’t use freshly dipped apples, everything kind of falls off}

4.  Roll freshly dipped apples in the bowl of crushed candy, making sure you cover it entirely.

5.  Once you have completely covered the caramel apple with crushed candy place the bottom of the apple in small dish with sugar {this will keep it from sticking to the sheet} and place on wax paper.

 6. Melt chocolate chips in a small glass dish.  I use the microwave at 50% power stirring every minute. Once chocolate is completed melted use a spoon to drizzle melted chocolate over candy covered apple.  You can also use a squeeze bottle like this, or a sandwich bag with a small hole cut in the corner.

 The final product should look something like this….

I hope you enjoy the tutorial, don’t forget to check out the new Halloween Collection, on sale in the shop until October 1st.

2011 Printable Halloween Collection

I am very excited to share our brand new Printable Halloween Collection.  When I sat down to create this Halloween Party set I wanted to make sure it included all the things you would need to celebrate this spooktaculor holiday. Weather you are having a monstrous Halloween bash or a fun play date, this set has you covered! A big thanks to Monica at Andary Studio , she did an amazing job capturing all the photos.

I backed the Enter {at your own risk} party sign with some black sparkly cardstock and bright purple cutout spider web cardstock paper.

I filled my kids toy storage container with all the party goodies.  These little cubbies are great for kid friendly parties because everything is at there level.

Black and white spider web ribbon wrapped around a water bottle and topped with our printable drink label.

Top: Letter panel Happy Halloween Banner
Bottom Left: White Gable Box wrapped with layers of ribbon and cupcake toppers in cans filled with M&M’s
Bottom right: Centerpiece Circle in a simple white container

Yummy gourmet candy apples topped off with our cupcake topper.
